Etude House's Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base in Peach

Etude House's Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base
Hi lovelies! Today I'll be starting my blog off with a review of the Etude House Baby Choux Base in Peach. First of all, I'd like to take a moment to thank my sister-like friend Bora for getting me this adorable friend right here while she was in Korea. I'll be tagging her name a lot in my future reviews because she had actually gotten me quite a few more products along with this Baby Choux Base right here. Please look forward to what other goodies I have in my pockets alright? :)

Now let's get on with the review shall we?

The Baby Choux Base comes in a small frosted-glass jar with a cute beige lid as shown on the first picture. The reason why I said it was small is because I expected a much larger product than what I actually got. The size of the jar is about half of the size of my palm, which made me cringe a little when I first saw it. Not only that, but the actual product in the jar is far from being "full" at first glance. But don't worry about it... I'll tell you why very soon ;)

The texture of the Baby Choux Base is very light and fluffy... it actually reminds me of the Jet-Puffed marshmallow fluff!

Here comes my rant about the scent. Anybody who has the slightest clue about me knows how obsessed I'm with peach! Not just the fruit itself, but the peachy color and scents are just equally heavenly to me. Heck! I even own a tiny tube of peach-scented breathe fresher from Etude House, too. I know I'm crazy like that... but you gotta hear what I have to say about this supposedly peach-scented base.

I'm honestly not pleased with the awful fake peach scent when I first sniffed it when it was still in the jar. It made me choked a little and it smells nothing like peach if you ask me. Though disappointed, I'm still glad that the scent goes away after a minute or two after applying it on my face.

Since it's called a base, I'm pretty sure this was not expected to be wore alone. The main point of this baby choux base was to even out your skin tone and also bring out slight glow to your face to give off a healthy baby-like smooth skin. Remember how I told you not to panic about the size/amount of the product? I'll just tell you now that you'd only need the tiniest amount of the baby choux base and it's enough to cover your entire face! I really do mean tiny because if you end up grabbing more than the "tiny" or "little" product, you're gonna look awfully pale! Trust me, I've learned it the hard way. On my first time trying this out, I was deeply in love with the fluffy texture and ended up grabbing more than I should.. which made me ended up with a 'ghost' face.

If you were blessed with a flawless face or just that lucky to have minor skin issue, then I would say this baby choux base is good enough to be wore alone if you just need a little boost to your dull looking skin or just wants something to even out your skin tone. For the rest of us, we might want to pact on a little concealer and perhaps our bb creams or foundation on top of the base to get a fuller coverage.

I did experience some dry patches on my chin and eyebrow area the first time I used it. To solve this problem, just make sure you apply an adequate amount of moisturizer before applying this base to avoid getting dry patches like I did ^^

Also, I did notice my face got oilier through out the day while wearing this base under my MUFE foundation. It's not a big deal for me since I carry my blotting sheets with me everyday anyways... but for you beautiful girls out there with a tad bit more oily skin should definitely watch out for this!

Overall, this Baby Choux Base is a 4 out of 5 for me. The scent is the main turn-off but I guess I'll get used to it after a few more use... maybe? :D

  3. I also like baby choux base, got the berry one. I'm thinking of trying mint or peach next. I agree that a little goes a long way and too much will make the face ghostly white :)
